Nyoom App Case Study

For my second project of University in Year 2, we were given a brief to design an application or product that would help cyclists navigate Auckland City. This project was completed with a partner. The main goal of this project was to learn how to conduct User Research and follow a design framework.

This project helped me learn how to follow a framework to create a successful design outcome. The ability to follow a framework is something that has helped me a lot in projects following this one.

What is the Nyoom App?

Auckland has been improving it’s infrastructure for cyclists and public transport with more cycle and bus lanes being put in around the city. As well as this, the rising gas prices has increased the amount of cyclists, and the amount of people that use e-bikes. Because of this increase, people who bike need a convenient app to help them navigate around Auckland.

We used the process and methods of the UX Design Toolbox to design an application to help middle-aged and senior road cyclists navigate Auckland and find different important locations related to cycling. The final result of this process is the Nyoom App.
